EDUCATION
Cape Coral is home to three high schools operated by Lee County School district. It includes Cape Coral high school, Mariner high school and Ida S. Baker high school. Scheduled to open in the 2008-2009 school year is Island Coast high school. Several schools have also received the National Schools of Excellence Blue Ribbon awards.  

RECREATION
 Cape Coral was previously known as a “sleepy” community with a large retirement population. This has changed recently with the population boom of the 1990’s which brought in young working class families.
